Case Study: 7-Eleven x Viral Nation

Broadcast Spot + 35 Social Assets in 14 Days

The Ask

With just two weeks until air, Viral Nation reached out with a 100+ page creative deck for a national 7-Eleven campaign. The deliverables included a 30-second broadcast commercial and 35+ additional assets in various formats for TikTok, Instagram, and other social platforms.

The energy on the kickoff call was intense. The brief was ambitious, and the clock was already ticking.

My Role

I stepped in as a production partner, responsible for building and managing the entire executional pipeline. While Viral Nation handled talent casting and location approvals, I oversaw:

  • Hiring all crew (camera, lighting, drone, and post)

  • Structuring and managing a tight post-production timeline

  • Coordinating logistics and shoot-day operations

  • Supporting the agency producer with a dedicated coordinator and producer on my side

The Challenge

We had just 14 days from greenlight to final delivery of a national broadcast spot — complete with color, sound design, and graphics — plus dozens of platform-specific assets. Traditional production and post timelines wouldn’t cut it.

We needed a streamlined, parallel workflow that would allow production and post to move forward at the same time.

The Solution

To fast-track the process, I designed a live color and nightly handoff system:

  • I brought on a hybrid DIT/Colorist who graded scenes in real time on set as footage was captured.

  • Each evening, the day’s graded footage was handed off to the editor, who worked in parallel to stay one day behind the shoot.

  • Because grading was happening in tandem, the Colorist was already 80% of the way there by the time the edit was locked. Once picture was approved, only light finishing was needed — saving valuable time and ensuring we hit the broadcast deadline.

Meanwhile, the editor also structured and delivered 35+ social-first assets, adjusting layouts and graphics to meet the specific demands of TikTok, Reels, and Stories — all without requiring additional shoot days.

The Outcome

We delivered the final broadcast spot and full suite of social assets on time and in full, with every deliverable aligned to the agency’s vision.

The crew I assembled was lean, skilled, and collaborative — exactly what was needed for a high-output, fast-paced shoot. Despite the intensity, the energy on set was positive and focused, and the result was a campaign that landed with clarity and impact.
